By this, after all a book that genuinely challenges both your thinking and ideas plus your language abilities.
I suggest testing out some of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novels or any important work of philosophy to begin with. Take to striking the collection and looking at a brief history of Western Philosophy by Bertrand Russell, The Executioner’s Song by Norman Mailer, Sophie’s Selection by William Styron, or Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison – every one of which deeply challenged and relocated me.
